Payment is taken in full at the time of booking. You can receive a full refund as long as you cancel prior to two weeks before your pick up date. If you cancel within this two week window, you forfeit your entire rental rate, unless we are able to re rent the boat.
Yes, you do need a boating license to drive a boat in the state of Maryland. Operators born after July 1, 1972 can be issued a temporary boaters safety certificate (which is free). You can only receive two of these in your lifetime. They are valid for ten days. These certificates can be obtained by watching our online safety video and answering the 24 questions located on our boat safety page. In order to pass, you must get 22 out of the 24 questions correct. Once you have completed the test and submitted it to Lake Life Boat Rentals, we will contact you to let you know if you have passed. If you have already received your two permitted certificates, you must take the online course through the Maryland DNR website.

We do not have public docking available. If you’re renting the boat for multiple days, you’ll need to dock the boat at your rental property.
If your rental property does not have a dock, we recommend contacting High Mountain Sports as they sometimes have slip rentals available. Their contact number is 301-387-4199.
Yes! We ask that you stop and fill up at our gas dock location. The gas dock is located on the right hand side of the cove, about one mile before the rental department, where you picked up the boat. Keep your eyes out for the parking garage and sign that says Deep Creek Marina Club. Please be aware that the gas docks are open Monday to Thursday from 8:00am to 6:00pm and from 8:00am to 8:00pm Friday to Sunday.
Yes, there are danger zones which are clearly marked by red and white buoys throughout the lake, which you need to keep away from to avoid damaging your rental vessel. There is also a sandbar located directly behind the rental docks, marked by the danger buoys. If you enter the area between the buoys and shore the boat will be damaged.
If you have any uncertainties about the danger zones, please contact us or speak to us when you pick up your boat.
We take a security deposit for all rentals which typically ranges from $500 to $1000 dollars. The deposits are fully refundable and will be returned when you bring your boat back provided that no damage has been done to the boat.

A tri-toon is a type of pontoon boat that has 3 toons instead of the standard 2. This 3 tube design allows you to have a bigger engine with more stability through choppy waters. Our pontoons that have a 90HP+ engine are tri-toons.
We love Ace’s Run, it’s run by local celebrities Martin and Brenda and you can get there by car or boat, as it is located inside the Will O’ the Wisp hotel. They have excellent food and drinks, as well as specials most nights of the week.
We also recommend The Honi Honi, Brenda’s Pizzeria and the Lakeside Creamery. They have some outstanding food options. We recommend that you drive by car to these restaurant locations because the boat docks can be very busy.
We’d love to hear from you so please contact us here.
